Stewardship Thought for the Week
Right or privilege? Jesus' parable in the Gospel lesson made it clear to the Pharisees that working in God's vineyard was a privilege and not a right (just because they were Jews). We see the result of their fruitless efforts, along with their killing of 'The Son;' in Jesus' words; "the Kingdom of God will be taken from you...and you'll be crushed to pieces!" Have we ever thought of Stewardship as a 'right?' True, Stewardship is a high and Godly calling. But can we claim it as a 'right' just because we're Christians? Or, perhaps an 'obligation?' Something we 'have to do' because we're Christian? Rather than it being what it is; namely, a privilege! God's steward; what a blessed privilege it is!
